Acton-Boxborough Family Network (ABFN), based in Acton, Massachusetts, is a nonprofit group of parents and caregivers working together to increase and improve local resources for families with young children. ABFN members share the goal of connecting with other parents and families in order to develop social, recreational, service, and cultural opportunities for families and their young children.

ABFN offers themed events throughout the year, monthly story hours and craft hours, a babysitting co-op, weekly outings, a book group, weekly playgroups, educational seminars, moms' night out, dads' night out, a newsletter, online forum, local discounts, and much more.

As a part of our commitment to developing and sustaining a vibrant community, we strive to create an environment of inclusivity. Mon Sep 24, 2018, 6:45–9 pm EDT

I plan to arrive around 6:30 to grab a table, please RSVP so I can get a headcount. The Taproom Bar is open for full service and it’s a BYOF (bring your own food) night! True West will be serving $.75 Wings and $5 Fried Pickles. ABFN will provide a round of wings/pickles for the table.

What is Geeks Who Drink?

Geeks Who Drink is homegrown Pub Trivia Quiz modeled after those in Ireland and the UK.
Our quizzes cover everything from celebrities in trouble to wordplay to bad television. You can get a feel for the questions we ask by playing a sample round here.
Each quiz has two audio rounds: a “Name that Tune” style round, and another round comprised of soundbites from movies and TV.
Play in teams of up to six or by yourself if you’re some kind of savant.
If you want to play but don’t have a team, come anyway. We can usually get single players recruited onto an existing team.
Winning teams gets street cred, bar cash and other prizes depending on the venue. Bonus Questions for free pints are sprinkled throughout the quiz.
You don’t have to be a trivia God to enjoy the quiz. Since you’re playing on a team, the collective knowledge base makes for more fun, less pressure. It’s not final friggin’ Jeopardy.

MNO - Rail Trail Walk

Sun Oct 14, 2018, 8:30–10:30 am EDT

Let's meet at the new part of the rail trail @ Nara Park. There is ample parking in the lower lot at Nara Park by the bathrooms and we can hop on the trail there. Afterwards we can treat ourselves to cider and donuts provided by ABFN with that crisp fall air (I hope) at the picnic tables. Babies and dogs welcome, but we suggest little walkers skip this trip.

Map of where to park and meet: we will meet at the yellow P where it says parking and restrooms in the close up of the Nara Park map. http://brucefreemanrailtrail.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/BFRT-201804-update.pdf
