Morning Mom's Hike

Sat Oct 21, 2017, 8–9:30 am EDT

Celebrate the colors of all this summer rain with a fall hike! Join the ABFN for a Mom's Morning Out Hike on Saturday Oct. 21. We'll meet at 8am at the trailhead to the Nashoba Brook Trail in North Acton and enjoy a gentle 2 mile hike through Acton's largest conservation land.

This hike is good for all abilities, and follows a stream bed through varied vegetation. According to http://www.actontrails.org/nashoba-brook/, this hike "is notable among Acton conservation lands for its abundant and varied human artifacts, both historic and prehistoric. Most prominent is the exceptional stone masonry associated with the foundations and sluiceways of two early mills, a farmhouse foundation, remains of a barn, two earth-filled dams, and a post-and-lintel stone chamber."

So leave the kids at home for an hour on a fall morning and come explore the Acton woods with us! We'll have coffee and snacks at the trailhead. Exact address for trailhead parking will be sent to attendees prior to the date.
